Our Regions
Australia’s climate is ideal for growing premium quality, temperate varieties of rice that feed millions of people around the world. We are committed to developing water-efficient and high-yielding rice varieties and implementing ‘world’s best’ management practices to ensure we continue to lead the way in growing sustainable, premium rice.
Riverina
The Riverina rice growing region is based in the Murrumbidgee and Murray valleys across south-west New South Wales and northern Victoria. We grow medium grain Japonica varieties, long grain Indica varieties, and premium short grain rice such as Koshihikari, which is ideal for use in Japanese cooking.
North Queensland
Rice is grown in North Queensland from Mackay in the south to Tully in the north with production centred around the Burdekin Region, near Townsville. Long grain and fragrant varieties are well suited to the tropics of North Queensland.
