The SunRice Group has announced the successful completion of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and B Class Meeting, held in Griffith last week, with shareholders approving all resolutions presented.
Key outcomes included:
- Adoption of the Remuneration Report for the year ended 30 April 2025.
- Re-election of Director Luisa Catanzaro for a further three-year term.
- An increase in the Non-Executive Director fee pool by $500,000, bringing the total pool to $2 million – the first adjustment since 2019.
- Approval of B Class Share Rights to Group CEO and Managing Director, Paul Serra, under the Long-Term Incentive Plan.
The meeting also welcomed newly elected Grower Director Rachel Kelly.
In addition, shareholders received updates on the Group’s FY25 financial results and outlook for Riverina rice production, with the Board continuing to monitor water allocations and conditions ahead of the CY26 planting window.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the SunRice Group – an extraordinary milestone that reflects the company’s growth from a single rice mill in the Riverina to a global food business. The anniversary was acknowledged during the AGM, highlighting the Group’s history of innovation, resilience, and growth, which continue to shape its future direction.
The AGM also marked an important leadership transition, with Chairman Laurie Arthur stepping down after 18 years on the Board, 10 of which were served as Chair. Deputy Chair, John Bradford was confirmed as the new Chair following the conclusion of the B Class Meeting.
Reflecting on his tenure, the outgoing Chairman said:
“SunRice is a company I am very proud of. We’ve weathered challenges, embraced change, and delivered for our stakeholders. I believe SunRice has a bright future – one that will last well beyond the next 75 years if we keep the same focus and commitment. To our growers, shareholders, and employees – you are the heart of SunRice. Everything we do starts with you.”
On behalf of the entire SunRice community, we extend our sincere thanks to Laurie for his outstanding leadership and dedication. During his decade as Chair, he played a pivotal role in guiding the Board through a number of significant milestones and supporting the successful transition to our new Group CEO, Paul Serra. His steady leadership has left a lasting legacy and set the foundation for SunRice’s next chapter of growth.
