Spiced Rice Side

INGREDIENTS

1 Brown onion, finely diced 

2 tsp Garlic, minced 

2 tbsp Butter 

1 tsp Sweet paprika 

1 tsp Turmeric 

4 cups Chicken or Vegetable stock

OPTIONAL

1 tsp Thyme or Parsley, dried

RICE

2 cups SunRice rice, uncooked (If using Basmati, rinse rice 3-4 times to remove starch)

STEP 1 - PREP

  • Add butter to medium saucepan over medium heat
  • Add onion and garlic, mixing for 3-4 minutes

STEP 2 - COOK

  • Add the rinsed rice, paprika, turmeric, stock and any other herbs (if using)
  • Mix well to combine
  • Place the lid on and bring to the boil
  • Turn the heat off once boiled and leave for 10-15 minutes

STEP 3 - SERVE

  • Once liquid is absorbed, fluff up the rice with a fork
  • Serve with protein of your choice (try Roast Chicken)

PRO TIP - STORAGE

  • Store your left over rice in a sealable, microwave-friendly tub for another day.
