SunRice White Medium Grain Rice

Medium Grain Rice is a round, tender and succulent grain, allowing it to lock in moisture when it is cooked. This rice is often used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess, like paella or risotto. It is also ideal in your favourite Middle Eastern, Korean and Spanish dishes and is a good choice for delicious desserts. All rice is naturally gluten free.

Ingredients to serve:

This recipe was originally designed for 4 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 2, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 1 cup SunRice White Medium Grain Rice or SunRice Koshihikari Rice

  • 1 punnet Strawberries (tops removed, quartered)

  • tsp Rosewater

  • 2 tsp Icing Sugar

  • 3½ cup Milk

  • 2 tbsp Caster Sugar or Honey

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste

  • 2 tbsp Toasted Pistachios (chopped)

Method

  • Combine the strawberries, rose water and icing sugar in a bowl. Fold gently with a spoon, cover and refrigerate.

  • Combine the rice and 1 cup of milk in a medium saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce to a medium heat and simmer, stirring constantly, until the liquid has evaporated but the rice is sticky and moist. Stir well and add another cup of milk. Repeat until the rice is tender. Add the sugar and vanilla.

  • Divide into bowls, top with strawberries and pistachios.
