SunRice White Medium Grain Rice

Medium Grain Rice is a round, tender and succulent grain, allowing it to lock in moisture when it is cooked. This rice is often used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess, like paella or risotto. It is also ideal in your favourite Middle Eastern, Korean and Spanish dishes and is a good choice for delicious desserts. All rice is naturally gluten free.

Ingredients to serve:

This recipe was originally designed for 2 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 4, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 2 cup SunRice Medium Grain Rice

  • Peanut Oil or Olive Oil

  • 1 Onion (sliced)

  • 1 clove Garlic (crushed)

  • Ginger (grated)

  • 1 Vegetables Of Your Choice (thinly sliced red and yellow capsicum, mushrooms, baby corn, grated zucchini, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, corn & spring onion)

  • 1 Cashews (toasted)

  • 1 Spring Onions

  • Soy Sauce

  • Sesame Oil

  • 1 ABC Kecap Manis (sweet soy)

  • Salt and Ground Black Pepper

Method

  • Wash rice till the water runs clear to remove the starch.

  • In a small pot add the rice with 3 cups of boiling water, stir once and bring to a boil. Reduce to a low heat and place a lid on. Fluff rice up once cooked. Set aside.

  • In a wok or pan add the oil and sauté the onion till it softens, then add your vegetables of choice and cook.

  • Once your vegetables are almost cooked, stir in your sauces and add your rice, seasoning to taste. Top with cashews and spring onions to serve.
