Fast Fried Rice with Smokey Bacon

Whip up Australia’s most loved rice dish in minutes, one pan special fried rice. Pour the microwave pack straight into the pan/wok and simply add your favourite veggies.

Ingredients to serve:

This recipe was originally designed for 4 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 2, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 450 g SunRice Special Fried Rice

  • 1 tsp Vegetable or Peanut Oil

  • 2 Eggs (beaten together)

  • 4 Rindless Bacon (chopped)

  • 1 Red Capsicum (sliced into strips)

  • 1 Green Capsicum (sliced into strips)

  • Light Soy Sauce (to serve)

  • Lime Wedges (to serve, optional)

  • Heat a wok or large frying pan over high heat. Add the oil. Swirl to coat the base of the wok or pan. Add the egg. Swirl to form a thin omelette. Cook for 30 seconds or until the egg is light golden underneath and just set on top. Slide out onto a board. Roll the egg into a log. Transfer to a plate, cover to keep warm.

  • Add the bacon to the wok or pan. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until browned. Add the red and green capsicum. Stir to combine.

  • Add the SunRice Special Fried Rice, stir fry, for 2½ minutes until the rice is warmed through. Slice the egg crossways. Stir through the rice.

  • Combine the soy and toasted sesame. Serve with the fried rice and lime wedges if using.
