Method


  1. Place cornflour in a jug and blend with 1/2 cup water. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sake and brown sugar and whisk with a fork to combine. Set aside. Tip: for gluten free, check ingredient list of oyster sauce.
  2. Heat half the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over a high heat. Stir-fry steak in two batches until browned, then remove from pan. Add remaining oil to frying pan. Add mushrooms, zucchini and spring onion whites and stir-fry for 2 -3 minutes, until just tender. Add garlic and ginger and cook, stirring for 1 minute longer.
  3. Squeeze rice pouch to separate rice. Tear corner of pouch to vent heat. Microwave on high for 2 1/2 minutes (850W). Set aside.
  4. Stir liquid in jug, add to frying pan and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add beef and spring onion greens and cook, stirring for 1 minute longer. Season with pepper. Serve with rice.
