Vita Rice Parboiled Long Grain
SunRice Vita-Rice Parboiled Long Grain Rice is a convenient "in between" rice.

It has a mild nutty flavour like brown rice, cooks up like white rice, whilst taking less time than brown rice to cook. The best of both worlds. The rice has been partially steamed in the husk before the outer bran layer is removed, locking in some of those extra nutrients usually found in brown rice.

Cooking Method
Absorption

Absorption

  1. Place 1 cup (200 g) of rice in a saucepan. Add 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) of cold water. Bring to boil.  Stir occasionally.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 20-24 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stand, covered for 5-10 minutes. Serve.
Gentle Boil

Gentle Boil

  1. Place 1 cup (200 g) of rice in a saucepan. Add 6-8 cups of cold water. Bring to boil.  Stir occasionally.
  2. Lower heat and boil gently, uncovered for  20-24 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat. Drain well and serve.
Microwave

Microwave

Use the same water to rice ratio as the absorption method. However, as there are great variances between microwaves, refer to your microwave manual for instructions.

Tip: For optimal consistency in results, we recommend the use of an electric rice cooker.
