The Australian rice industry leads the world in production efficiency, environmental sustainability and food processing, marketing and innovation. From paddock to plate, Australian-grown medium grain rice uses less water than any other country on earth – 50% less than the global average.
In more than 80 years, the Australian rice industry has met many commercial and environmental challenges, and today grows a range of market-specific varieties, well adapted to Australian conditions. Rice growing techniques have been perfected over the years so that Australia can proudly claim to be clean, green, water-efficient producers of high yielding, high quality rice.
